PIFF! The ball exploded in a shower of white, and Eiji crowed in
victory.
"Eiji!" Oishi called from the sidelines. "Will you get in here! Tennis
practice is cancelled because there's a BLIZZARD!"
Eiji
glanced over with a pout at his doubles partner, who was wrapped in a
thick, puffy parka and holding out a scarf pleadingly. He was about to
refuse--tennis snow was great!--but when he glanced across the court,
he noticed that Fuji's lips were turning just a wee bit blue, and Eiji
didn't fancy Tezuka making him run a thousand million laps for getting
the tensai sick.
"Fine!" he sighed, waving Fuji over before he
jogged towards Oishi, catching as many snowflakes on his tongue as he
could on the way.
"Honestly," Oishi muttered, wrapping the
scarf around Eiji's neck and throwing an arm over his shoulders to pull
him close. "You're freezing! You're going to get pnuemonia!"
Eiji
snuggled against the warm Oishi with delight and vowed that there was
going to be Snow Tennis every day if this was the result.
"Eiji!"
Fuji called, and Eiji turned to see him holding up the last snowball.
Eiji looked up at Oishi hopefully, and Oishi sighed and dropped his
arm. Cheering, Eiji gave Oishi a quick hug and dashed back to his side
of the court.
Eiji braced his feet and watched the sphere
coming towards him, tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth in
concentration...
